To my brother and friend, we were set to speak together in a matter of days.
I will speak on your behalf and deliver my promise to the Lakota People: Cold Fusion.
Go well my friend.

The world has lost a wise and brave man. My condolences to his friends and family.
Russell Means supported cold fusion, and was attempting to get a cold fusion unit for the Res.
I’m proud to have his support.
SPIRIT
Once again in wonder, a child whistles a refrain while sitting under a tree.
Above him a bird tilts it’s head and joyfully warbles a response.
On a distant mountain, a youth walks alone to the sacred peak.
Arriving reflective of humanity, life, and wondering a part to play.
A vision unfolds of all that has been and that which can be.
Returns walking a path dedicated to the best for all throughout time.
Elsewhere, an elder brings to fruition a dream that’s taken a lifetime.
Another one watches and inspiration blossoms deep within.
Thank You
“Again, and maybe the last time on this earth, I recall the great vision you sent me. It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives. Nourish it then, that it may leaf and bloom and fill with singing birds. Hear me, not for myself, but for my people; I am old. Hear me that they may once more go back into the sacred hoop and find the good red road, the shielding tree!”

your words have brought me great comfort.
amazing how the heart has it’s own intelligence in times like these. Have been thinking of Russell soooo much lately. Was speaking with my friend, Taryn, about him 7 nights ago…oh, my heart is aching… Russell and I were very close for a year or 2 – spent 2 weeks in Hopiville on 3rd Mesa with Grandfather David and his dear wife and then met Russell at an AIM benefit where he was speaking.
He called me his halfside but I wasn’t ready to leave LA and move to Rosebud. We traveled around the country when he was campaigning for AIM w. L Flynt. Met Russell when I was singing at AIM events w/ Red Crow, Trudell…then we started traveling together…… I was just telling my teenager only a week ago about Russell for the first time and educating him about AIM, wounded knee- told him how Russell showed me the scars from all the bullets that tried to take him out.He was unique in his courage and force of will. my son knew Red Crow when he was little – we’d meet for tea in santa monica. We miss Red Crow. 2 great leaders of the Lakota. May their passing be the seeds for thousands more of the young generation to walk and speak truth. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin
